A code, not your name
Your tube carries a code. The lab never learns your name, email or address.
Sample destroyed
The lab destroys your saliva sample once it has been analysed.

Questions
Is this a health test?
No. The HealthOS DNA Kit is an ancestry and traits test. It is not a medical or diagnostic test, and kit results come with no health report.
How long does it take?
We ship within 2–3 business days. Your results appear in your HealthOS account about 3–4 weeks after you post the sample, and we email you when they are ready.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes. A kit is linked to a person when it is activated, not when it is bought, so whoever uses it activates it with their own HealthOS account at healthosx.com/kit.
Do I need an account?
Not to buy. You need a free HealthOS account to activate the kit and see your results.
Can I download my raw data?
Yes. The raw file from the chip, about 650,000 markers, is yours to download from your account at any time.
Who analyses my sample, and what happens to it?
LIFE & BRAIN GmbH in Bonn, Germany, reads it on an Illumina GSA chip. The tube carries only a code. The lab destroys the sample after analysis, and your file is stored encrypted in your account until you delete it.
Where do you ship, and what does it cost?
The price for your country is shown next to the Buy button, and it includes shipping both ways: the kit to you and your sample back to the lab. In Germany and the rest of the EU it also includes VAT; in the US it includes import duty; in Saudi Arabia the import VAT is paid on delivery. We ship to Germany, the rest of the EU except France, the United States and Saudi Arabia. We can’t ship to New York or Maryland yet.
Can I return it?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery, as long as the kit is unopened. Once the sealed collection tube has been opened it can’t be returned, for hygiene reasons.
What if the lab can’t read my sample?
We send you a new kit, free of charge.
How many can I order?
Up to 4 kits per order, enough for a couple or a family. Family mode needs two or more people with their DNA in HealthOS.
I already have a raw file from another company.
You can read it for free at healthosx.com/dna. The kit is still worth it if you want a fresh file from our lab, or a kit for a family member to compare with in family mode.
