Your file is read and interpreted inside your browser, and the file itself is never sent to us unless you choose to store it. Ancestry runs only if you tick its own consent: it sends a list of genetic markers, which we keep with your result until you delete them. A genome identifies you and your relatives permanently, and unlike a password you can never change it — so keeping it is your choice, not ours: we only store it if you choose to use Ask your DNA, and you can delete it any time.

Your report never needs the file to leave this device. Ask your DNA, the optional chat, answers from your whole file — so using it means storing your file with us: encrypted, linked to your email, and deletable whenever you like. Nothing is stored unless you tick the box.
